Another Kind of Owning and Thankfulness
Joining the Peach volunteers to the sites of Yuan Young, Liu Chuen and other counties in Yunnan Province for inspection trip in April, 2004, I not only saw the most magnificent terraces in China but also witnessed the farmers? living in lack of physical supplies. Terraces are human-rivaling-god art works. They symbolize the crystals of farmer?s wisdom. They filled me up for the gap in an urban inhabitant?s life. I very much appreciate the farmers? great efforts creating such heavenly-made beauty and cultural treasure of terrace. What a pity there?s so little in reward for their creativity -- sunless room, paper box-propped bed, unaffordable of children?s text book fee ?
